For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in...

How the thrift store works

All proceeds from the Twice is Good Thrift Store are reinvested back in the Latrobe Street Mission and used to meet expenses. Thrift Store donations are also used when residents are in need of clothing, especially in job-related circumstances.

Donation items may be dropped off anytime during store hours or after-hours using the secure bins in front of the building.

Hours: Monday - Friday 10am-4pm

donation needs

·         Adult and children’s clothing in good or gently-worn condition

·         Household goods

·         Small appliances

·         Toys (gently used only, please)

·         Jewelry

Larger items such as appliances or furniture are also accepted. However, we prefer you call in advance to arrange drop-off or pick-up help.

On occasion, we receive clothing that is stained, worn, or in a condition that prevents us from being able to sell it in our store. These items are baled and sold for use in third-world countries, allowing us to receive a very small profit. It is our preference to sell items in our store, however, we are committed to being good stewards of what we receive and trust our staff to make the right decisions on items that will not successfully sell in the store.

Your donations to the Thrift Store increase our ability to provide tangible needs for those who stay with us.

The mission has given me and my three children a place to stay until I can get back on my feet. They have helped me with making appointments with all of the resources available to me, as well as helped me with items such as diapers, wipes, clothing, food, and hygiene for my children and I. They have been very understanding of my situation, and because of the support and recommendations one of the staff members made, I am starting a new job within the next week.
